What is Tea Time, exactly?

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for thisΒ β€” just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, Andrea.

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

Even if the world doesn't seem lonely from a broader perspective, it sure can get lonely. I also think that people who travel abroad a lot and live in different cities crave those deeper connections that they may have created with life-long friends they have "back home." I think it's difficult to create those deeper connections as an adult so it's an honour to be able to bring people together for just that reason - to create deeper connections, even if they only last for two hours :).

What's your story?

I'm a trilingual ex-yugo baby - born in Sarajevo (Bosnia), immigrated to and grew up in Canada and now I'm living in Berlin with my Croatian citizenship! I'm a solopreneur working on setting up my own online sock shop that empowers women! I work with kids a few times a week helping them learn english and math and I'm also a part of a program here in my hood in Berlin similar to "big brothers big sisters." Little people are bomb! I'm proud of alway following my heart and gut (they've been pretty much on the same page throughout my whole life) even if it meant ignoring some haters. I care about equality, education and understanding and my aim is to surround myself with people who believe in those things too. I watch a lot of movies and loveeee film festivals. I love having good conversations with incredible people - that's probably you, whoever you are on the other end of the screen. I love being a shoulder that people can lean on and I have a great ability to connnnnnect people together. I'm a huge fan of gypsy music and you'll never see me wearing a dull pair of socks, not even on laundry day.

What might we talk about?

I love talking about perspectives about self love and why so many of us have so little of it. I like to talk about how societal "norms" challenge the way we might want to live. I also love sarcasm and asking funny "would you rather" questions.

Jellyfish and figs are the most magnificent things in nature (IMO).
