What is Tea Time, exactly?

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for thisΒ β€” just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, Ankhi.

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

Hey! How are you! Good! How are you! Good!

Sounds familiar? Tea is going to be a lot less of this and a lot more of the kind of conversations we often fail to have even with our closest of friends.
Let's create a space for us to be whoever we want to be and try a new tea while we're at it!

What's your story?

Learning a city's streets and subway stops are enough for me to feel at home - sometimes the people are cool too though!

How to spot an Ankhi:
- Will almost always seek out the madness in an otherwise okay situation.
- Has a spreadsheet to store every concept store, wall, and street worth visiting in the world.
- Loves light. Will zone out if in presence of magical warm light.
- Terrified of birds but will face her fears for art (see photo).

Also I like to define my style as hobo chic, which the homeless of SF really dig (my mother def does not).

What might we talk about?

Any and all music that you think is dope and don't want to share because you're afraid of it becoming too mainstream. (p e t t y or PSA?)
A cafe that opened up in Madrid that you found on Instagram and don't want to share because it'll lose its hole in the wall charm by the time you make it there.

We'll share our favorite thoughts/ideas/theories, things we love to disagree on, what it takes for us to enter our flow state, atomic living, being human in the age of AI, keyboard shortcuts, how it feels wrong to cook with headphones on, what it means to be a citizen of the world, doodling, what makes us uncool, + literally anything you want to talk about.

If none of this sounds good to you, let's please definitely get some tea!! Echo chambers are overrated.

What is it to win?
