What is Tea Time, exactly?

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for this — just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, Ankitha.

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

As you might have gathered, it takes courage to talk to strangers! Take a tiny bit of solace in the fact that I do not bite(!!) and be so bold as to join me for tea/coffee anyway.

What's your story?

I love to learn things through new experiences. That mindset led me grow up in one country, attend high school in another and college in a third. It also led me to Tea With Strangers and, I hope, to you!

What might we talk about?

What might we talk about? art, cyborgs, what is the deal with avocados?, polyamory, people skills, what kind of person are you when no one else is around?, pop culture, awkward moments, the last time you laughed so hard you cried, Anthony Bourdain, paradoxes, family, the trolley problem, the best worst joke you’ve ever heard, books, the action flick you saw last Sunday, Black Mirror, travel, and most importantly: am I secretly using tea with strangers as a front to fuel my coffee addiction...

You can’t make everyone happy, you’re not pizza.
