What is Tea Time, exactly?

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for this — just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, Kushaan.

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

Raised in Massachusetts, I grew up embracing Tom Brady, Munchkins, and fundamentally terrible driving. One thing led to another and I'm now happy to call DC my home! My philosophy: I believe every stranger has a story. Maybe you’re a Hibachi addict. Maybe you’re strongly opinionated about “The Dress”. Whatever it is, let’s grab some tea, get wired and get cranking on some good conversation!

What's your story?

I am many things: A consultant, aspiring social entrepreneur, writer, unhealthy social media addict, theatre enthusiast, a dreamer, and an incredibly clumsy dancer. I’m the guy who would love to change the world as long as plenty of unapologetic Netflix marathons came in between. I also don’t pretend to be perfect. I acknowledge that, like any mortal man, I have plenty of weaknesses (John Legend’s voice, Disney movie songs, napping opportunities, The Taco Bell Dollar Menu, and the entire second half of a Walk To Remember to name a few). I also can’t say no to Tea. Your lucky day!

What might we talk about?

What might we talk about? The ball is entirely in your court. Do you want to talk about work? The weather? Let’s do it! Do you want to discuss childhood, your favorite candle scents, your guilty pleasures, your religious views, your ideal place to retire, what inspires you, what keeps you up at night, your insecurities, your fears, what penetrates the depths of your heart? We can talk about that too! No rules, no guidelines, no judgments. Share your soul as much or as little as you want.

Real growth happens when we become comfortable being uncomfortable.
