What is Tea Time, exactly?

🍡

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for thisΒ β€” just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, Ellis.

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

I'm a donut-obsessed 20-something who loves travel and is skilled at losing board games. After my first experience with Tea with Strangers I knew I had to be a host and help to spread the fun vibes.

What's your story?

Born in Florida, raised in Alaska, and having hopped around before settling into 3 different neighborhoods in Boston in the past 4 years, I think I've earned my penchant for travel. When I'm not on a trip out of town to visit friends, family, or a new place, I'm usually wandering around town sampling all of the delightful baked goods Boston has to offer (I have an insatiable sweet tooth) or reading books. I love seafood, although I'm a terrible fisherman, and I can't stand temperatures above 80 or below 20. I know - I picked the wrong town, apparently.

What might we talk about?

I'm always excited to learn about new people! Describe your favorite book, share the weirdest fact you know, tell me about your current passion project. I want to know what drives you, why you're in Boston (on purpose? a series of wacky mishaps?), and who you want to be when you grow up (I'm still not sure, personally). Come join me for tea and let's get to know each other!

In search of donuts, pastries, and bread.
