Hey, I'm Jillian!

I host tea time in New York City

I am a candy-eater, an avid reader, a lover-of-naps, an eager traveler, a giggler, an adventurer, and a story-seeker. I think everyone is a bit of the above -- plus their own unique combination of quirks, talents, and interests. We live in such a fast-paced world (especially in this city) that we do not take the time to understand the beautiful people with which we share this life. It is so rewarding to spend time venturing beyond the Small Talk to explore the Big Talk. Why do we do what we do? What motivates us? What makes us laugh, cry, and dream? How are we defined by our experiences? Let's grab some tea and get to know one another.

What's your story?

As the daughter of an artist and a lawyer, I joke that I was always destined to be torn between the left and right brain. Talk to me about Broadway (love Sondheim), cognitive psychology (love neuroscience) or data analytics (love Excel) and I'll let my nerd flag fly proudly.

I studied classical ballet growing up but now I just dance around my kitchen in socks and pretend that I know what I'm doing. A few years ago I accidentally stepped on my dog's tail while jumping around the room. Fortunately she forgave me, but I've never forgiven myself.

I have strong feelings about food (yes, I know guac is extra). There is no such thing as too much food. While in Italy, I took a 6-hour round trip excursion to Naples just to try their pizza. It was absolutely worth it.

Once upon a time I decided that I liked gravity racing, so I flew across the country to join some people I'd never met in their championship racing team. Why not.

These are a few of my stories. What are yours?

What might we talk about?

Things you are passionate about, spirituality, history, what you think of space exploration, which Hogwarts house you'd like to be in, if your life had a theme song what would it be, why you chose to live in New York, travel mishaps, where to find the best bagels in the city, what you had for breakfast, your favorite Netflix show, if subway performers are exciting or annoying.
